Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Super Star Interactive website, SSI / Star ID accounts, our games, the Cosmic Survivors leaderboard and associated online features (collectively, the “Services”). Super Star Interactive (“SSI”, “we”, “us”) is an independent group based in the Netherlands, not an incorporated company. By registering, you expressly agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use features governed by these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains our processing of personal data; acknowledging that notice is not blanket consent to processing.

You must confirm that you are over 13 years old when registering. Registration uses a single declaration alongside acceptance of these Terms and acknowledgement of the Privacy Policy; it does not verify your age or a guardian’s identity. You must be legally permitted to enter into this agreement. Where applicable law requires parental or guardian authorisation, obtain it before registering or using the relevant feature. Our product age requirement does not override national rules concerning minors or data protection.

Provide an email address you control, verify it when requested and supply accurate registration information. Usernames must meet the displayed rules: 3–64 lowercase letters, numbers, dots, underscores or hyphens. Display names may include spaces and other supported characters. Do not impersonate another person, misrepresent an official affiliation or use unlawful or abusive names.

You are responsible for protecting your password, verification links, recovery links and authenticator credentials. Do not share credentials or use another person’s account without authorisation. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

We may require email verification, CAPTCHA checks, two-factor authentication where enabled, and renewed verification for security reasons. Verification and password-reset links expire and are single-use. A password reset does not disable two-factor authentication. Recovery depends on available verification evidence; we cannot guarantee recovery if you lose access to your email or authenticator. Security and account emails are service messages, not a subscription to marketing.

The Services are intended for personal, non-commercial entertainment. You must not:

• Use the Services for unlawful purposes or infringe another person’s rights.
• Harass, threaten, impersonate or expose private information about other users.
• Exploit bugs, cheat, manipulate scores, submit fabricated results or interfere with fair rankings.
• Bypass authentication, rate limits, CAPTCHA or access controls; access accounts or administrative features without permission.
• Upload malware or unlawful material, or disrupt the website, APIs or games.
• Copy, reverse-engineer or redistribute our games or content without permission, except where applicable law or an applicable licence permits it.

Report vulnerabilities privately through our contact address rather than exploiting them.

You remain responsible for display names, biographies, profile pictures and other material you submit. Upload only material you own or are authorised to use, and do not include sensitive information or another person’s private data without a lawful basis.

You retain any rights you hold in your submissions. You grant SSI a non-exclusive licence limited to hosting, storing, reproducing, displaying and technically adapting that material as necessary to operate the feature you use. This does not transfer ownership or grant an unrelated advertising licence. Profile images and media hosted at public URLs may be accessible to others. Blog publishing and administrative tools require the appropriate permissions; account registration alone grants no such permission.

Submitting a score makes the associated player name, score and rank publicly available. The leaderboard API also exposes the SSI account identifier associated with a linked entry. Names may be a Cosmic Survivors player name or an SSI username; changing your SSI display name does not necessarily rename an existing leaderboard entry. Avoid real names and private information.

Cosmic Survivors may use its own player credentials or an SSI account. Link only a player account you are authorised to control. Unlinking removes the association; it does not itself delete the score or player name. Contact us to request removal.

We may investigate and correct or remove fraudulent, offensive, erroneous or otherwise non-compliant entries. Rankings may change following moderation, technical corrections, resets or the discontinuation of a leaderboard. A rank, score or badge is not a guarantee of a prize or permanent placement.

Except for user submissions, third-party material and material subject to another licence, rights in our game assets, logos, artwork, software and text remain with SSI or the relevant rights holder. No ownership rights are transferred to you. Reproduction and redistribution require permission unless an applicable licence or mandatory law permits them.

The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, subject to rights and obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, permanent preservation of accounts or scores, or successful restoration of lost data. Updates, outages, device failures and other events may cause data or progress to become unavailable. Keep your own copies of material you can lawfully export.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, SSI is not responsible for lost, corrupted or unavailable data, game progress, leaderboard scores or uploaded content, or losses arising from such events. This clause does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, statutory consumer rights, data-protection obligations, or liability for intentional wrongdoing or gross negligence. It does not permit us to ignore the Privacy Policy or our legal duties.

We may restrict access, remove content or suspend an account where reasonably necessary to address a breach of these Terms, a security risk, fraud or a legal requirement. Measures should be proportionate to the circumstances. Where lawful and practicable, we will explain the reason and allow you to contact us to contest an error; urgent security measures may be taken without advance notice.

You may stop using the Services at any time and request account closure or data deletion by email. A self-service deletion action is also available under Dashboard → Security. It requires your current password, an authenticator code if enabled, and explicit irreversible confirmation. It removes linked Cosmic Survivors entries and blog posts associated with your account author ID as well as the active account/profile records. Once accepted, access is revoked and deletion cannot be cancelled. Untracked media, previously unlinked records, back-ups and logs are subject to separate review and retention. Uninstalling a game, signing out or unlinking an account does not itself delete server records. Retention, removal and applicable exceptions are explained in the Privacy Policy.

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Services or applicable law. The revision date identifies the version. Material changes affecting account holders should be brought to their attention; renewed agreement will be requested where required. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued or mandatory rights.

Dutch law applies, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available under applicable law in their country of residence. Nothing here requires you to waive access to a competent court. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions apply to the extent lawful.
